Enterprise 3000 and Trilogy 5000 provide superior automation capabilities based on intelligent data. The use of External Rules Files (ERF) to set and apply tolerances to any given test is key to achieving accurate, automated, repeatable analysis results. Enhancements to analysis capabilities include:

• Apply different sets of ERFs selectively by area on the same PCB during one run of Fabrication Analysis. This is particularly relevant for printed circuit boards with different functional zones, such as (but not limited to): power supply, microwave area, and digital logic area. Each area has its own specific tolerance rules. With the ability to set different ERFs concurrently, multiple analysis cycles are eliminated and false information is filtered out of the results.

• High Density Interconnect HDI Analysis focuses on detailed analysis of spacing, conductor lengths, conductor angles and full analysis of buried and blind via drilled holes. This analysis category is intended for designers of:
  • BGA substrates
  • Mobile phones
  • PCBs with burried/blind vias
  • PCBs using additive/sequential lamination techniquest for multi-layer buildup

• Enhanced DRC concurrent to the design process for maximum impact to the overall design cycle time.
• Additional Assembly and Fabrication analysis categories which check aspects of DRC Keep-in/Keep-out rules (transferred with the original data from the CAD system).
• DRC results are presented in sequence and by category, so violations are quickly and clearly identified.

Trilogy 5000’s exceptional capacity for structured handling of BOM files is even further enhanced in version 5.2 with the added ability to read in multiple BOM revisions for a given set of engineering data. The BOM revisions are stored within a single job and can be automatically compared (e.g., for variations in the approved vendor list).
