BUY VALOR CAM SYSTEMS
FOR BARE BOARD MANUFACTURE
ODB++ data exchange between electronics OEMs and manufacturing companies
Electronica 98 November 10 - 13 1998 Valor Computerised Systems NV recently announced a number of significant Genesis 2000 CAM systems sales, in total worth over £300,000 to a number of leading PCB fabricators in the UK.
Kemitron Technologies, located in Flintshire, UK, has purchased Genesis in a move to improve engineering throughput and productivity. "Replacing existing CAM products, Valors best-in-class tools met the tough challenge to handle new and emerging manufacturing technologies and demonstrate measurable improvements in tooling efficiency," commented Jeff Murphy, CEO at Kemitron. "We now have 3 Valor systems installed and are successfully receiving ODB++ data files from our customers. Genesis gives a high level of customization and automation and dramatically improves communications with customers."
"Genesis meets fabricators demanding needs for factory performance, quality and yield improvements, and it increases bare board throughput," said Julian Coates, managing director, Valor Europe. "UK fabricators are now seeing an increase in the number of OEM customers who are supplying the job data in Valors ODB++ intelligent data format for superior data exchange," he added. "Receiving ODB++ files is superior than unintelligent Gerber files. ODB++ means that PCB fabricators can reduce pre-production time, have improved customer communications and higher yields due to more manufacturable data."
Driven by similar business issues, KAM Circuits recently bought Valor CAM systems for PCB pre-production engineering at their factory located in Wiltshire, UK. Also Sanmina International (based in Peterborough, UK) and S-Test (in Tamworth, UK) have also chosen Genesis as their front-end PCB fabrication solution.
Genesis 2000 is an intelligent tooling system for bare board fabrication. It fully automates the front-end production process and includes powerful data input, design analysis, stack up, tool generation and workflow management capabilities.
